Hello, My Love
As every night closes, and a new morning begins- a fresh start begins, my love.
All of the tears you have shed, all of the journal pages you have filled, are all a part of the bigger picture in becoming who you are today.
Somedays, you feel like certain parts of your life were a joke. That certain parts were there to mock you, to make you feel like an inch too short for an amusement park ride.
You felt embarrassed, ashamed, unloved and sometimes- forgotten. You stood and looked at yourself and wondered- why you apologized so damn much.
But know this, my dear- you are stronger for it. You knew as you saw clues to a life you wanted. You knew a life like that was out of reach- if you stayed complacent- if you stayed where you could barely breath.
After trying so much- sometimes it is better to just give up. Push the weight off your shoulders and say “Get the f*ck off.”
Get the f*ck off to all of the things in your life slowing you down. Shutting the windows that are letting a draft in. Closing cracked doors that no longer serve a purpose.
Sometimes you feel others come at you with intention, but then sit there and take. Sit there and poke. Drain your batteries and then hook you up once more to get every ounce of your charge, every ounce of your spark.
It is time to let go and let only the things in that serves you a purpose. That serves you your favorite flavor of sorbet. Because, my child- you are better than those things in your life that serve you no purpose- that serve you no real gain.
If we wrote ourselves our own life-love story, what would we write? Would we tell ourselves how amazing we are, and what we do and don’t deserve? Would we slam those cracked windows and doors quicker than we actually do?
Would we give ourselves more credit? Credit that we know we deserve? The thing we all need to realize is that no matter how much we give, there will always be people or things that take too much.
Because my love, you are who you are. That is one thing that you should never let be taken. Never let be tainted.
