I was recently on Instagram when I came across a post discussing trauma bonds and what they do to you. It outlined the effects of them, and what happens during one- and after you leave one. I tear up as I write this because I personally don’t open up much about myself and the traumaContinue reading “Trauma Bonds”

Disassembly Not Required
I had a thought spawn from a conversation I recently had. “Would you let him have a mullet?” A question was asked in regards to if I’d let my significant other grow a mullet.
Other ideas and thoughts I’ve had about other topics synced with my reply. I chose to dig deeper and ponder it later after the conversation had ended.
A Modern Woman
Women are beautiful beings. We have gone through so much over time as history has shown us. We continue to fight back. We continue to grow and push past limitations. We start and stay determined at chipping away at boulders that are blocking our path.

We all have skeletons in our closets. Things we aren’t proud of, or too embarrassed to tell.
We curl up at night and replay those situations that feel like demons looming over our beds. The fear returns for a brief moment because at that time, our emotions were beaten down like a hammer hits a tent stake- that won’t go into the hard ground.

Ugly Hearts
A woman sits at the far end of a restaurant sobbing because she just let someone else take a piece of her heart away. A piece of her light. A man sits in a bar, banging his fist onto the bar top, and his heart feels as used as the stained, tattered bar rag thatContinue reading “Ugly Hearts”
Raised in a Place
As I was speaking to a colleague over Zoom today, I heard it. I heard the place that I come from. It’s the subtle things in my actions, and how I speak that make me remember that I was raised in a place that laid an honest foundation to who I would become- and who I am still discovering.
I Miss You

Love is a Drug
A person can find many loves within their life. The love for a passion, a career, or the love for another person.
